About Apthorpe Farm Relishes |
Apthorpe Farm relishes came about in November 2007 when we were growing zucchinis on our farm. All of our bendy zucchinis could not go to market therefore we had to eat plenty or do something with them. I decided to try some relish, as it would have a long shelf life and would be good for value adding in my hamper business. At present we are growing zucchinis twice a year and pumpkin once a year.
If products are not available when needed then I source local growers for my supplies. I have just started making pumpkin relish from butternut pumpkins and tomato relish which was released in late August 2008. In January 2009 we took over a farm which we primarily grow smallcrops and rhubarb. We now make a Rhubarb & Chilli Relish and a Rhubarb Jam. We do not grow tomatos on our farm, however they are sourced from local growers in the Lockyer Valley. Apthorpe Farm Relishes have a long shelf life of 12 months and are a great price at $7.00 per jar, which can be ordered through the online shop.
