About Us

APTHORPE FARM  is a small herb, fruit and vegetable farm , nestled in the Darling Downs at Hampton 30km North of Toowoomba. Hugh & Leonie Brassey, together with their children Abigale & Sam run the farm growing various products throughout the seasons.  Our main production lines are Avocados, Parsley(Continental & Italian) and Shallots.  We also grow zucchinis, rhubarb and will be planting parsnips shortly. 

We purchased the farm just over 3  years ago however since moving up here this thriving horticultural area and beautiful soil allows us to grow just about anything.   We primarily purchased the farm to grow Avocados however due to a huge frost we had in July 2007 we lost most of our crop and had to diversify into small crops to keep us going.  It has paid off and we are now supplying Mrs Crocketts, Brisbane Markets, Sydney Markets and various wholesalers with all of our products.

We also produce a range of Relishes and Jams which are made on the farm and they are sold to retail outlets and at farm exhibitions, on the internet and by word of mouth.  Please see stockists for an outlet closest to your town.

We hope to start exhibiting at the local Toowoomba Fresh Farmers Market starting in early 2010 and also exhibit at local events and shows in the Queensland Regional Area.
